The National Council for Occupational Safety and Health has signed an agreement with the General Directorate for Prisons for a "Joint Cooperation in the Field of Occupational Health and Safety" during the Sixth Saudi Global Conference for Occupational Safety and Health 2024.

 

This agreement falls within the Council's role and involves the General Directorate of Prisons in enhancing and establishing the highest safety standards to safeguard lives and properties, in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 targets and the Council's strategy to achieve a safe working environment.

 

This agreements aims to foster cooperation between the National Council and the General Directorate of Prisons in the fields of occupational safety and health by enhancing efficiency in occupational safety and health aspects and work environment at the national level. It aims to provide a safe environment to improve the quality of life for workers and inmates. Additionally, it aims to collaborate to support the success of projects and initiatives of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development aimed at developing the reality of occupational safety and health, thereby reducing work-related injuries and occupational diseases. Moreover, it aims to raise awareness about the importance of occupational safety and health and to promote compliance with occupational safety and health aspects at both individual and institutional levels nationwide.
